How I Work
As a humanistic integrative counsellor I believe that the client and counsellor working relationship is at the heart of successful therapy.
That is why I think it is important for us to meet for an assessment session before you commit to therapy and why I offer this half hour assessment session free of charge and without obligation to continue.
I believe that we are all born inherently good and that we strive to be the best we can, to grow in a positive direction.
However, life’s experiences and circumstances can sometimes hinder our ability to grow in this way and have a negative impact on how we think, feel and behave. This view of human nature is largely known as humanistic.
The Integrative approach to counselling means I am able to draw on different models of counselling and psychotherapy, for example, Person-Centred therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Gestalt. For further information on these counselling models please visit: itsgoodtotalk.org.uk
I believe that although we can have similar experiences e.g. anxiety, relationship difficulties, abuse etc we all cope and react in our own unique way. So my way of working with each client is as different and unique as the person themselves.
Counselling can help you develop a better sense of self. It gives you space and time to explore your thoughts and feelings, and work towards a healthier, more positive future. Please feel free to call me for an informal chat to discuss your situation further or to ask me any questions about the counselling process or how I work.
